Perfekt

018

I just got a few rolls of my film scans today. As much as I love the quick and painless digital workflow, there's something about the process of shooting film that I long for - the nostalgia, anticipation and the anxiety of what could be a nice or crappy set of photographs.

I did this photo story a few months ago on a "weekend getaway" in Quiapo using Anton's Horizon camera. After shooting this I want to get one myself. I find it interesting to document stuff with a panoramic eye.

I still can't believe it's raining in midsummer. Can this be postponed to a more convenient time?

Nomad's Land

07

One of the better shoots I had last year. The location was perfect for the ed since I've always wanted to incorporate a bit of cultural documentary into my fashion shoots. There's more to Camsur than just wakeboarding. There are old churches, island beaches and a deer farm which came as a surprise. I didn't know such a place exists! Bad weather that time but good shoot nonetheless.

Road Tripping

_MG_2653

This is a shoot we did about a month ago and it's on exhibit now at Travel Club in Trinoma, Quezon City along with photographs from Bahaghari, Mark Nicdao and Sara Black. Mine is about the open road experience - away from a place you know and a destination you don't. I wanted to highlight the trip for its journey, not its endpoint - its random encounters, solitude and self realization. We did a real road trip for this thanks to Louie. His Kombi is da bomb!
